Layers of sweet, creamy, and fruity ingredients make this Strawberry Dessert Lasagna a delightful crowd-pleaser. The buttery Oreo crust is slathered with dreamy, sweet cream cheese, followed by a fruity strawberry layer. The lasagna is crowned with a fluffy layer of whipped topping and garnished with ruby-red strawberries for a lush finish.
This delicious make-ahead dessert is perfect for summer and beyond. It’s always a refreshing hit at cookouts, potlucks, and pool parties. You’ll want to get a head start on this one, though, since it needs several sessions in the fridge to chill thoroughly before it’s ready to slice and serve. I like to make it the night before so it’s all set and well-chilled.
The assembly and creation of the layers are easy, too. It’s a simple combination of crushed cookies and butter for the crust, whipped and sweetened cream cheese for the next layer, strawberry jello and fresh diced strawberries for another, and a generous helping of whipped cream for the top. Although I like to bake the Oreo crust to ensure it’s set, you can skip turning on the oven and make this a complete no-bake dessert effort. Win-win!
Ingredients Needed
Golden Oreos – crushed. Provides the foundation for the crust.
Butter – melted. I use unsalted ingredients combined with crushed cookie crumbs to form the crust.
Cream Cheese—set it out to soften. Combine with the sugar and cool whip to create a creamy, sweet layer that goes on top of the crust.
Cool Whip – you’ll need three containers for the layers and the topping.
Sugar – use powdered sugar to help sweeten the cream cheese layer.
Strawberry Jello Packet – to create the fruity layer.
Water – boiling to add to the jello packet.
Ice – add to the jello mixture to cool it down.
Fresh Strawberries – these are diced to add to the jello layer and as a garnish for the top of the dessert.
How To Make Strawberry Dessert Lasagna
Note: this is a summary of the steps. For complete instructions, see the recipe card below.
STEP 1: Make the crust by combining the crushed cookie crumbs and butter and pressing it into a prepared 9×13 baking dish. Bake for 10 minutes in a preheated 350-degree F oven, or, for a no-bake option, place it in the freezer for 15 minutes to set.
STEP 2: Make the cream cheese layer by mixing the softened cream cheese with the sugar until blended and smooth. Add 1 and 1/2 containers of Cool Whip to the cream cheese mixture and lightly combine. Spread the mixture evenly over the crust and refrigerate for 1 hour.
STEP 3: Whisk together the jello packet mixture and boiling water in a large bowl. Add the ice cubes and lightly stir until the mixture thickens. Add the diced fresh berries and stir to combine. Set the Jello mixture in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
STEP 4: Remove the jello mixture from the refrigerator and mix it for 1 minute.
STEP 5: Pour the Jello mixture on the cream cheese layer.
STEP 6: Lightly spread the Jello over the cream cheese.
STEP 7: Place it in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to set and chill.
STEP 8: Top with the remaining whipped cream and garnish with fresh strawberries before serving.
Crust Variations
I use golden Oreos for this recipe, but chocolate Oreos or even lemon Oreos would be amazing. You could also use graham crackers or Nilla wafers instead of Oreos.
How To Crush The Cookies
Use a food processor or high-speed blender to get a fine crumb with the cookies. Using a rolling pin, you can crush them in a Ziploc bag, but the crumb will be chunkier. It’s up to you, although I think the fine crumb holds up better as a sturdy crust, especially if you decide not to bake it.
Fruit Layer Variations
Swapping out the strawberry flavor for something else is easy. Choose matching jello for the fruit. Try raspberry, blueberry, cherry, pineapple, or peach, and match it to the fresh fruit. Delicious!
Add-Ins And Toppings Ideas
To the fruit layer, add an extra whipped topping or a dash of heavy cream to make it creamier before spreading it on the cream cheese layer, besides adding fresh fruit as a garnish topping, chopped walnuts, chocolate chips, chocolate shavings, or a drizzle of chocolate syrup.
Can This Be Made Ahead?
Yes, and you should! The layers must be well-chilled and fully set before serving, so making it the morning of your event or the night before is ideal.
Storage
Store leftovers in the refrigerator, tightly covered, for up to 4 days.

I don't see in your instructions what to do with the 1 cup of sugar. Do you add it to the cream cheese?
