Baking Tips

  • Don’t use the natural peanut butter that you have to stir. The natural type will leave the cookies dry and crumbly. Use the kind that’s already stirred and stays that way. Go for the pre-mixed!
  • Make sure you roll the dough into a ball for each cookie before you bake. Do not flatten them before baking! You’ll do that after they come out of the oven so that they’ll leave a nice indention or “well” for the chocolate.
  • Try using a sifter for a uniform dusting of powdered sugar. If you’re not picky, you can always just use a spoon but you’ll get more little clumps that way, which is totally yummy. But if you’re looking for more of a classic dusting, use a sifter.
  • Want to make these festive for the holidays? Add a smidge of red and green sprinkles to the chocolate centers.
  • Want to up-level these Muddy Buddy Cookies to swoon-worthy status? Top the finished cookies with just a little sprinkle of actual Muddy Buddies mix right in the center of the chocolate. What? Yes!
