I started making this recipe 10 years ago. Now it is a tradition in my family. They all say it would not be Thanksgiving without my wonderful Whipped Sweet Potatoes.

Even the kids ask every year, to make sure that we are going to have it. (Little do they know they are eating veggies and asking for seconds! LOL)  A mom is always looking how to sneak a good veggie in and make it taste good.

This is a such a great recipe. My son has never liked sweet potatoes before and went back for seconds with this dish. I make it all year round now. It’s also a great dish for very young children. its a great change from just regular mashed potatoes.

My son’s school had a Thanksgiving program and afterward they had a dinner. No one wanted to make sweet potatoes due to the kids not eating it, I made this and everyone ate it and wanted the recipe. It was great!!

I like using fresh sweet potatoes. I found them on sale, they are so easy to bake, and your kitchen smells great!

Wash the sweet potatoes well and pierce the skin several times with a fork. Place the sweet potatoes on a rimmed baking sheet lined with foil and bake at 400 for 45-60 minutes, until tender. Note: actual baking time depends on the side of the sweet potatoes and may vary.

Very carefully peel the skin off the hot sweet potatoes and place the orange flesh of the potatoes into a large mixing bowl; discard the skin.

Add the melted butter and salt; whip the sweet potatoes with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy in texture.

Stir in the brown sugar.

Can this recipe be any easier? So delicious!

Enjoy your holidays!!
