It’s fall and I am creating all kinds of apple recipes! Stay tuned for more coming soon to this blog! I can not resist a delicious Caramel Apple. These cookies taste just like caramel apples but in a wonderful cookie form in every bite!
As an added bonus, not only are these salted caramel apple cookies to die for but while your cookies are baking, your whole house will smell like fall! The only downfall to that is, everyone will come running to the kitchen looking for where the yummy smell is coming from.
When you bake your salted caramel apple cookies, I do have one tip for you though: Use a whoopie pie pan. This is my favorite pan to make cookies in. The walls help keep the cookies not only in a uniform shape but also with the right thickness. I use this pan for all of my cookies, but this cookie recipe, in particular, you will want to use it.
Core, slice and chop apples.
Saute the apples in butter and cinnamon until soft. Let the apples cool.
In a bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar together. Mix in the egg and milk.
In a separate bowl, add the flour, baking soda, ground cinnamon, allspice, ground nutmeg.
Slowly, add dry ingredients to wet ingredients.
Add chopped apples and Caramel Baking Chips to the cookie dough.
Spoon cookie dough into a whoopie pie baking pan. Bake.
Let cookies cool on a baking rack.
For even baking, make sure cookies are the same size.
These salted caramel apple cookies really are easy to make.
Granny Smith apples were used in this recipe — choose your favorite baking apples, such as McIntosh, Braeburn or Jonathan.
I promise you will soon be taking them to all of the apple picking, pumpkin painting, Haunted House attending, fall harvest festivals of the season and making a batch just to keep at home. Perhaps even an extra batch to hide just for yourself. No judging here.
