What’s The Difference Between Coconut Cream And Coconut Milk?
This recipe calls for coconut cream, which is a thick and rich cream made with the meat of the coconut. It comes in a can. If you refrigerate it before using it (I suggest overnight), the cream will rise to the top of the can. You can scoop it out and use that for a luxuriously thick cocktail.
If you forget or don’t have time to refrigerate the can of coconut cream, don’t fret. Just use it as is from the can. It will still be amazing! Coconut milk is a watered-down version of coconut cream that comes in a carton. It’s not as thick, but it still packs a decent coconut flavor. You can use coconut milk. Just be aware that it’s a thin liquid instead of a cream. It won’t help thicken the drink.
Should I Freeze The Bananas Before Making This Drink?
You don’t have to, but if you’re going for a frozen milkshake consistency, it’s a good idea. Be sure and keep a banana out for a garnish on the top before freezing the rest. Frozen bananas work best if frozen overnight. Just peel the bananas, slice them into 1-inch sections, store them in a freezer-safe Ziploc bag, and freeze.
If the bananas are frozen together when you use them, bang the Ziploc bag on the counter a few times. Banging the bag will loosen the banana chunks, making it easier for them to break apart.
How To Assemble A Dirty Banana Cocktail
Looking at the directions, you’ll see that you’ll blend all the ingredients. Do not blend the chocolate syrup, cool whip, and cherries. You’ll want to drizzle the inside of each glass with the chocolate sauce. Then pour in the frozen Dirty Banana cocktail. Then, add a dollop of cool whip on top, a few slices of fresh banana and a Maraschino cherry. Add a long straw and/or a long spoon to enjoy this frozen concoction!
Can I Make This Into A Mocktail?
Sure! Just leave out all the alcohol. Add a small scoop of coffee ice cream and vanilla ice cream to it before blending. Garnish according to the directions.
Storage
This cocktail is best made and served right away.
