Spaghetti Sauce – a jar of your favorite brand.
Cottage Cheese – adds a tanginess to the multi-cheese layer.
Cream Cheese – softened, so that it mixes well and without clumps.
Sour Cream – adds tang and smoothness to the cheesy layer.

Directions

1. Preheat the oven to 350° F and spray a 9×13 baking dish with non-stick cooking spray and set aside.
2. In a medium pan, brown the sausage and drain the fat. Stir in the spaghetti sauce, turn off the heat, and set aside.
3. In a large bowl, combine the cottage cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, Parmesan cheese, and garlic powder; stir. Add the ravioli and stir to coat everything.
4. Spread the ravioli cheese mixture on the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Pour the meat sauce all over the top of the ravioli and spread it out evenly.
5. Top with mozzarella cheese and bake uncovered for 45 minutes. Let it sit for 10 minutes before serving. You can top with chopped parsley before serving if you’d like.

Do I Need To Cook The Ravioli?

No. Mix the frozen ravioli into the cheese mixture. The ravioli will cook itself in the oven as the casserole bakes.

Variations

  • Meat: swap out the Italian sausage for ground beef, ground turkey, or a combination. You can also omit the meat altogether for a Vegetarian meal.
  • Vegetarian: omit the meat and add in sautéed vegetables like mushrooms, zucchini, and bell peppers.
  • Cottage Cheese: swap it out for ricotta cheese
  • Pasta: swap the cheese ravioli for beef-filled or veggie-filled ravioli.

What To Serve With Million Dollar Ravioli Casserole

This casserole is ideal served with bread. I like to serve it with my Cheesy Garlic Bread or my Italian Garlic Herb Parker Dinner Rolls. A side salad would also be tasty. For dessert, stay inspired with Italian cuisine. Serve a slice of my Italian Cream Cake. Or try a refreshing slice of Lemon Tiramisu.

Is This Freezer Friendly?

Yes. Assemble the entire casserole as you would before baking. You can store it in the fridge for up to 2 days if it is tightly covered before baking. Alternatively, you can store it in the freezer for up to 3 months. Thaw in the fridge overnight before baking.

Storage

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. To reheat, place leftovers in a baking dish and cover with foil. Reheat in a preheated 350°F oven for approximately 30 minutes or until heated through. You may need to add a splash of water if the casserole leftovers are dry. You can also microwave the leftovers in intervals until warmed through.
