Sweet and Smoky Crockpot Chili is one of my favorite easy crockpot recipes. If you’re looking for the best chili recipe to make in your slow cooker, you’ve found it. This easy chili recipe is made with ground beef, bacon, onion, corn, garlic, spices, and 5 types of beans.
It’s getting to be soup and chili season. We love chili in our house with all the toppings. Just set it and forget it for an unbelievable dinner. Sweet and Smoky chili is cooked low and slow for a hearty, flavorful chili.
making chili in the slow cooker has never been easier. Bacon makes this recipe so delicious, plus corn and different types of beans makes it hearty and filling.
I love making chili in the slow cooker. As the chili simmers all day, the flavors marry together and what you have is a rich, full-flavored chili. It’s even better the next day. Also, if you are looking to make meals ahead of time, this chili is perfect for freezing. Just label the container with the date of when you make the chili.
You also can’t beat the convenience of slow cooker recipes, since you get all of the prep work done ahead of time! In the evening all that’s left to do is serve your slow cooker chili, with your favorite toppings.
This slow cooker chili recipe is delicious and served with my easy Honey Cornbread Muffins or Best Buttermilk Biscuits.
What are the Best CHILI TOPPINGS?
Shredded cheese, such as cheddar, Monterey Jack, or pepper jack, Sour cream, Crushed tortilla chips, Chopped onion: white, red, or green onion, Avocado, Jalapeño, Tomatoes, Fresh cilantro, A squeeze of fresh lime juice, Cholula Sauce. Let me know in the comments what your favorite toppings are?
CAN YOU FREEZE Sweet and Smoky Crockpot Chili?
This recipe should serve around 8-10 people, but don’t worry if you can’t eat the whole thing! Sweet and Smoky Crockpot Chili can easily be stored in the freezer and saved for another day.
To freeze this recipe, let the chili cool to a warm temperature (just turn off your slow cooker and leave the lid open for an hour or so!) and pour your extra chili into a large freezer bag.
You may want to double up on bags, just to avoid any leaking in your freezer.
You can keep it in your freezer for up to 30 days and it will taste as fresh as the day you made it!
To reheat, let it thaw in your fridge for 24 hours. Place your soup into the slow cooker and heat on low 2-3 hours until it’s hot and bubbling again.
To make Sweet and Smoky Crockpot Chili into a freezer meal, just follow the directions in the post below, but place all of the ingredients in the freezer bag and not the slow cooker.
You’ll want to make sure you cook your ground beef before you place it in the freezer. We also recommend labeling your freezer bags with the date, name of the recipe, and cooking instructions so you know exactly what you need to do when you’re ready to eat it.
