There’s nothing better than biting into a warm and gooey cookie full of melted chocolate, right? These cookies take that to the next level with the addition of three chocolate ingredients in the mix. In fact, you probably have all the ingredients in your pantry to make these right now. Let’s do it!
Benefits of chocolate
Just in case you’re already feeling guilty about these Triple Chocolate Cookies, you need to know one thing: chocolate is healthy for you!
It’s true! This recipe actually has cocoa powder in it and cocoa powder is full of antioxidants. Cocoa powder is also filled with vitamins such as A, B1, C, D, and E, plus it contains iron and calcium. So go ahead and make these awesome cookies and enjoy every chocolatey bite!
Cookie making tips
- You do not have to chill the dough before baking, but if you’re making the dough ahead, it’s totally okay to leave it in the fridge overnight.
- For a crispier outside crust but a melty middle, leave the cookies in the oven just a little bit longer.
- These cookies make awesome ice cream sandwiches. If you plan on using them that way, bake the cookies a few minutes longer so that they are not gooey in the middle. That way, they can withstand a scoop of vanilla ice cream sandwiched between them.
- For a pretty presentation, lightly press some extra white chocolate and chocolate chips into the cookie tops after you’ve placed them on the cookie sheet and before baking.
- I think these cookies are perfect as they are with their cocoa, chocolate chips, and white chocolate chips in them, but feel free to experiment with different types of chips. You could substitute a peanut butter chip, caramel chip, mint chip, or something else.
- Other additions such as nuts would be awesome, too. If adding nuts, I would certainly reduce the number of chips you add in otherwise you run the risk of more additions than cookie dough to hold all the yumminess.
- For a little sweet and salty treat, garnish your finished cookies with some large-flake sea salt.

● You don’t have to chill the dough before beginning, but you can chill it covered for up to 1 day ahead of time. I recommend chilling the dough in between batches.
● Feel free to add nuts, pecans, or walnuts, they all are both really delicious.
● Add 1⁄2 - 3⁄4 cup of milk chocolate chips to make them even more sweet and
indulgent.
