Air fryers are a modern way to efficiently cook food. They don’t actually fry your food but instead, use circulating hot air to achieve an outcome similar to frying. It’s a much more healthy way to cook your food that doesn’t require submerging ingredients in oil. And the best part – it’s quick! Because the hot air is circulating around the food, you don’t need to spend as much time waiting for the food to cook!

Ingredients Needed

  • Ground beef – 1/1/2 pounds of ground beef. I use 80/20 to keep them juicy and flavorful.
  • Salt, pepper, onion powder – to keep it easy, this basic seasoning provides just the right amount of flavor that you can enhance with all your toppings.

Can I Cook Frozen Hamburger Patties In The Air Fryer?

Absolutely! I recommend preheating your air fryer to 375°F and spritzing the basket with non-stick cooking spray before adding the frozen burgers. They’ll need to cook for 10 minutes before flipping and cooking for an additional 5-8 minutes.

Best Buns For Air Fryer Burgers

Sure, you can go for the classic sesame seed bun, which is always a delicious choice, but if you want to change it up, consider any of the following for a tasty change of pace.

  • Kaiser Roll– with its crusty outside and softer inside, these rolls can handle a juicy burger. Plus they have a fun pinwheel look on the outside which elevates them to a special status.
  • Pretzel Bun – salty, glossy, and substantial on the outside, these chewy buns make a tasty way to hold your burger.
  • Onion Bun – when you’re looking for a little more interest in the flavor department, these buns will do the trick. They’re topped with little caramelized onions which add that extra savory bite.
  • Potato Bun – made with mashed potatoes, they’re a softer bun that works well with thinner burgers and gives a little different flavor to your handheld meal.
  • Ciabatta Bun – for those who don’t like soft buns, opt for the square ciabatta. It’s dense and makes a substantial coverage for your burger.

How To Store And Reheat Leftovers

Leftover cooked air fryer hamburgers can be cooled and stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator. To reheat, you can either microwave them for about 60 seconds, covered them, or reheat them in the air fryer. Heat the air fryer to 350°F and reheat the burgers for approximately 5 minutes or until your desired temperature is reached.
