Homemade Sugar Cookie Dough Truffle candy is an excellent choice for the Christmas season because it brings together all the things we love about the season in a single bite: nostalgia, sweetness, and a delightful sense of indulgence. The classic taste of sugar cookies instantly evokes memories of baking with family, twinkling lights, and cozy winter nights. When rolled into truffles, that beloved dough becomes even more festive with its soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture. Their snowy white look and bright toppings make them a perfect fit for any holiday dessert table.

Sugar Cookie Dough Truffles are ideal for the holiday season, as every ingredient enhances the comforting flavors, festive appearance, and nostalgic joy everyone craves at Christmas. Butter and brown sugar create a rich, warm base that evokes classic holiday baking, while flour and vanilla extract give the dough a recognizable sugar-cookie taste from childhood. Sweetened condensed milk adds creamy sweetness and helps hold everything together, making the truffles indulgent without baking. The white almond bark coating provides a snowy, wintry feel and a smooth contrast to the soft center, while colorful sprinkles add a cheerful, festive flair, making it ready for Christmas. All together, these ingredients capture the cozy, joyful spirit of the holidays in every bite.

Beyond their flavor and charm, these truffles are ideal for the holidays because they’re easy to make, share, and gift. They require no baking, which is essential during an already busy season. They can be prepared in advance for parties, cookie exchanges, or last-minute guests. Packaged in tins or boxes, they make thoughtful homemade gifts that feel both cozy and elegant.

Is It Safe To Eat Raw Cookie Dough?
This cookie dough recipe doesn’t contain any eggs. However, it does have flour. To ensure it’s safe to eat, I heat-treat the raw flour in the microwave before using it to eliminate potentially harmful bacteria. Typically, flour is baked in the oven or heated in gravy, soups, or stews on the stovetop. The heat kills off any bacteria, such as E. coli, that may be present in raw flour. That’s why it’s essential to microwave the flour for this recipe. Place the flour on a microwave-safe plate and microwave it for 1 1/2-2 minutes in 30-second intervals, stirring between intervals. Be careful not to let the flour burn.

How To Dip The Truffles In White Chocolate
- Prep: Have your bowl of white chocolate almond bark melted and ready to coat the chilled truffles. Have a sheet of parchment paper ready to set the dipped truffles on.
- Dip: Using two forks, lower a cookie-dough truffle into the melted white chocolate. Use the forks to roll the truffle in the chocolate, making sure it’s completely coated. Use the two forks to lift it out of the bowl, then tap off the excess and let it drip back into the bowl. Place the coated truffle on the parchment paper. Repeat with the remaining truffles.
- Decorate: When all truffles are coated, drizzle the remaining melted white chocolate over the top of each truffle, then immediately top with sprinkles. Let it set before serving or packaging.

Variations
- Dough: consider adding mix-ins such as mini chocolate chips or finally chopped nuts.
- Chocolate Coating: Replace the white almond bark with brown chocolate almond bark.
- Decorations: replace the sprinkles with colored sanding sugar, chopped nuts, grated chocolate, or fine chocolate shavings.

Storage
