This make-ahead Strawberry Margarita Pie is an easy frozen dessert with a punch of tequila to flavor the creamy and fruity chilled filling that sits in a graham cracker crust. Top it with homemade whipped cream and garnish with fresh strawberries and lime zest for an irresistible presentation.
Make your favorite Mexican-inspired cocktail in a new form by turning it into a Strawberry Margarita Pie! Enjoy a chilled slice and savor the sweetness of the berries along with a tang of lime, a hint of tequila, and the creaminess of sweetened condensed milk that helps make the pie filling a scrumptious treat. It’s super easy to make and you can even turn it into a no-bake effort if you want to use a prepared graham cracker crust instead of making it yourself! It’s perfect for Cinco de Mayo and any warm-weather summer celebration.
This is definitely a make-ahead pie, so plan accordingly – it’s worth it! I like to make this pie well in advance, like the night before I’m going to serve it, so it can get a full overnight session in the freezer to help it set before topping it with the whipped cream and garnishes. If you’re short on time, make it earlier in the day so it can have at least 5 or 6 hours in the freezer before serving time.

Can I Use A Store-Bought Pie Crust?
Yes! I always keep a few prepared graham cracker crusts on hand for when I don’t have the time to make it myself.
No Bake Crust Variations
If you’re looking for a no-bake solution for the crust, other than using a store-bought prepared graham cracker crust, here are a few other mix-and-press crust ideas.
- No-Bake Vanilla Wafer Crust: Stir together 2 1/4 cups of finely crushed vanilla wafer cookies (use a blender or food processor) along with 1/2 cup of melted butter. Press the crumb mixture into your pie pan and up the sides. Place in the freezer for 15 to 30 minutes to set before adding the filling.
- No Bake Salted Pretzel Crust: Process 2 1/2 cups of salted pretzels until they are coarse. Melt 10 tablespoons of unsalted butter and add the pretzel crumbs along with 1/2 cup of sugar and stir until well combined. Press the pretzel crumb mixture into your pie pan and up the sides. Place in the freezer for 15 to 30 minutes to set before adding the filling.
Fruit Variations
If you’re looking for a flavor other than strawberries, try raspberries or blueberries. They’ll work perfectly with the recipe as written and will pair well with the lime juice, tequila, and orange juice ingredients.
Can I Use Store-Bought Whipped Cream For The Topping?
Yes. If you don’t want to make your own whipped cream for the topping, you can use prepared whipped cream. You can add it to a large piping bag with a star tip and decorate the top of the pie with it or just slather it on top of the frozen pie as a sweet and creamy topping before adding the garnishes.
Can I Make This Without The Alcohol?
Absolutely! Just leave out the tequila and carry on with the recipe as written. You’ll have a luscious strawberry and lime-flavored frozen pie that’s kid-friendly and just as delicious!
Storage
Keep this pie in the freezer until ready to serve. I suggest decorating and garnishing the top right before serving. By the time you decorate it and serve it, the filling will have thawed perfectly for you to cut with ease. Any leftovers should be tightly covered and stored in the freezer.
