Tips for making Chocolate Chunk Pumpkin Bread:
- Generously butter the loaf pan or use a floured baking spray. Using a floured spray releases the bread out of the pan so much easier.
- Coat the chocolate chunks in flour. This will help to suspend the chocolate in the batter instead of the chunks sinking to the bottom of the pan while it cooks.
- You will want chocolate in almost every bite as you are eating it.
- Use pure pumpkin. Do not use pumpkin pie filling. Pure pumpkin and pumpkin pie filling are completely different. This will affect the outcome of the bread.
Pumpkin Puree vs. Pumpkin Pie Filling
This recipe calls for pumpkin puree (100% pure pumpkin), not pumpkin pie filling! Pumpkin puree is made with just pumpkin, while pumpkin pie filling has all kinds of ingredients and flavors added in. Double-check your cans and make sure you have the right ingredients!

Really yummy recipe. I ended up baking it for 80 minutes and I think it was still a little undercooked.
