Slow cooker Creamy Swedish Meatballs are an easy and satisfying meal to make for any day of the week. Slow Cooker Creamy Swedish Meatballs are like a traditional Swedish dish with perfectly browned, flavorful homemade meatballs coated in a rich cream sauce that is slow-cooked. The rich creamy sauce enhances the flavor of the meatballs and is tender with every bite.

Slow Cooker Swedish Meatballs are so easy to make and are made completely from scratch.  The meatballs and creamy sauce are served over egg noodles. Perfect comfort food for the cooler weather and during the holidays.
With the cooler weather upon us, this slow cooker meal is classic comfort food that your family will love. These are the best Swedish Meatballs ever with plenty of gravy to pour over the meatballs and noodles or mashed potatoes.

These Slow Cooker Creamy Swedish Meatballs are comfort food at it’s finest, starting off with homemade meatballs made with ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, onions, and spices. There is a spice in these meatballs that makes this recipe shine, Nutmeg. Nutmeg gives the meatballs a sweet, spicy taste that sets them apart from the classic Italian meatball.
To cook the meatballs, just pan-fry them or bake them until they are perfectly browned and cooked through. Then the meatballs go into the rich creamy sauce in the slow cooker. There the flavors meld into an incredible drool-worthy and addictively delicious meal.

Now for the sauce, it is wonderful! This creamy brown sauce is similar to the gravy but even better. Beef broth is added to a roux ( a mixture of equal amounts of butter and flour, heated, blended, and used as a base for sauces) and whisked slowly until it becomes a smooth sauce.
Add Hood Sour Cream during the last hour making it into a luscious, rich, sauce that you’re going to want to put on everything. Add the meatballs to it and let them slow cook on high for 2 hours or low for 4 hours in the sauce and you’re ready to serve. I suggest serving them over egg noodles, mashed potatoes, or rice.

What is the difference between these Swedish Meatballs and other meatballs?
Usually, meatballs are highly seasoned and served in a red marinara sauce but these Swedish meatballs are cooked in a homemade rich, roux-based, creamy gravy made with fresh ingredients like classic spices, beef broth, and Hood Sour Cream.

How to make a Swedish Meatball Gravy
This recipe has an easy to follow step by step recipe for a roux-based gravy that is rich and creamy. There is no cream of anything soups which makes this recipe lower in sodium and less costly. I use fresh Hood Sour Cream for a flavorful and homemade taste.

What is Hood Sour Cream?
Hood Sour Cream is made with high-quality ingredients, so whether it’s a holiday or any day, serve the best Hood Sour Cream when sharing meals with friends and family. Hood Sour Cream is made with real Hood Milk and Cream and comes from farmers who pledge to never use artificial growth hormones (rBST).

How Can I use Hood Sour Cream for other fall/holiday dishes?
Hood Sour Cream is available in a convenient, easy to squeeze bottle that offers a rich, creamy, and delicious sour cream taste and will transform recipes without the mess. I like adding ribbons of delicious Hood Sour Cream to my favorite dishes like this Slow Cooker Creamy Swedish Meatballs in the sauce and on top of the meatballs for a beautiful and delicious presentation.
